Photo Scavenger Hunt

August’s Photo

Take a look at this historic photo of somewhere in our area as it appeared in past decades. If you think you know the spot, snap a photo of what it looks like today and submit it to us using this form, or by emailing it to spruceavehistory@gmail.com.

Every month, everyone who participates will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate for a local business. All participants will be entered in a grand prize draw at the Harvest Fest celebrations in September.

Call for historical items for display

As part of the league's 75th Anniversary, we are working to commission a display case for inside the community hall.

Over past years, we have collected a number of physical items with historical significance; examples include sports league team photos and jerseys, bricks, souvenirs of the Historical Exhibits Building which used to be in our neighbourhoood, and more.

We are still on the lookout for display items that speak to the history of Spruce Avenue and the league in particular. If you know of items of interest or wish to donate, please get in touch: spruceavehistory@gmail.com.

We will be hosting a display of items and an opportunity to donate as part of Harvest Fest celebrations on Sept. 26.

This Month in 1951
